Safety First!

Check out that pimping safety gear so that I can drill w/o getting metal flakes in my eyes while installing my flood lights. Also, those new titanium drill bits I picked up kick a$$!!

Project Fail!

My grand plans for project 365 have not been going so well these past few weeks. All the time in the snow, all the driving and playing in it, no pix of me! I guess I've just been a bit of a slacker. This past weekend, I spent some time playing with the Jeep since after the snow, I promised it many new goodies. As shown below, ARB Bull bumper, IPF flood lights, new D-rings, and my winch was remounted. Still to do, working on the IPF lights, I need to reposition the control box on the winch so that it's not just sitting there (I have a plan!!), factory fog lights are going to join the party with some custom drilled holes in the bumper, and wiring for the tractor light that I have out back. Also, a new high lift jack is coming in as well as a fuse box override for fuse 4. Damn that door chime gets annoying and quick!! Displayed to the right, is the progress I've made thus far. Looks pretty sweet to me!

Snow Recap (in Photos)

This is the only time I broke my No Shoveling rule all winter long. I had to clear half a path, and plowed my way thru the rest. It was epic!! I had a guy holding my ipod so that I could get a video, but alas he hit pause and I had no recording.

Jeep - Clearly the vehicle of choice when sh!t goes down and the weather gets naughty!

There were around 50 volunteer drivers by 530am. It was really impressive to see such a turn out. And trust me, there was PLENTY of hospital staff that needed shuttling.

This is the view on 95 south bound on one of my first long distance runs. Yeah, it's still night time out b/c it's around 530ish? The white outs hadn't started yet and the snow wasn't too deep at this point.

This is I-95 heading north bound in the best condition I had ever seen it during the day. The fun part is the sign in the distance which you couldn't even see during the blizzard all day long. "White Out Conditions. Do not drive"

This is after I-66 had been plowed. Not to difficult for me, but I was glad I was out in the Jeep for all of this mess!

Driving into the driveway gave me no problems at all. Clearly, 2ft of snow is the depth that I'm comfortable driving thru right now. Still... 24" = no problem? Nice!! The Jeep is getting some new goodies thanks to it's stellar performance this week!

Driving for the good

I can't believe it, my (and a whole bunch more folks) snowy drive(s) made CNN http://bit.ly/9omZFJ
The pic above is from a neighborhood where I was picking one guy up to take to the hospital. Yeah, that's a full buried car you see over there up ahead and to the right. I honestly didn't think I was gonna make it outta this neighborhood w/ snow drifts taller then the Jeep and standing snow in the middle of the road as tall as my tires!!

Nothin much going on today, just hangin out @ Noodles & Co. for a tasty lunch. Oh yeah, just decided to do the Warrior Dash 5k. Something tells me it'll be a lot more challenging then I anticipate, so I better get off my duff and get ready!

Thumbs Down

I haven't rated anything thumbs up or down since my buffalo trip back back back in the day. Well, the time has come for me to thumb something down. The new DVD from Family Guy, Something Something Dark Side which had soooooo much potential after Blue Harvest was an awesome spoof... Totally sucked. I'm kind of bummed. If you saw the commercial for it, you saw all the best parts.

On the move

You know... today I'm just stressed out about a few things. I don't much enjoy it and nor do I want to list them. No one item is a deal breaker but making them all work together and dividing my attention is a cross between challenging and frustrating. One thing at a time, right?
